Windows 98 Connection Wizard for use with michusa.com

To access the wizard go to the Start button, click on program files. Select internet explorer, then click on connection wizard.

Step 1) Click on the top radio button using the option to connect to a ISP or local area network. Click on the Next button.

Step 2) Click on the top radio button option to connect using my phone line for dial up connections. Select the bottom option if you have a dedicated michusa.com account. Click the Next button to continue the setup.

Step 3) Select the top radio button to create a new dial-up connection, then click the Next button to continue.

Step 4) Type your area code and your michusa access number in the appropriate fields. The country namd and code should be set at the default: United States of America (1). Also make sure the box is checked for Dial using the area code and country code. Click the Next button to continue.

Step 5) Enter your username and password (make sure you specify it exactly because it is case sensitive).

Step 6) Click the top radio button to have the option to change your advanced settings, the click the Next button.

Step 7) Select PPP(Point to Point Protocol), then click the Next button to continue the setup.

Step 8) You will NOT need to type anything when you log on therefore select the top setting. Click the Next button to continue.

Step 9) Select My ISP automatically assigns me one, then click the Next button to continue.

Step 10) Select Always use the following: and specify both of the DNS servers (listed in the figure below). Click the Next button.

Step 11) You will just need to name the dialer icon in the Dail-Up Connection Name screen. Type Connect to michusa.com in the Connection name: field. Click the Next button to continue the setup. After you name the icon you will be prompted if you want to setup Outlook98. Follow the setup instructions for Outlook 98 located in the Windows Email Setup topic.
